- The app sets exactly one cookie, to keep you signed in.
- Your documents are processed only with the Claude account you connect, and are never used to train anything.
- Nothing is shared, sold, or sent to an analytics company.
Scolora is a private research assistant. This page describes, in plain language, what data the website and the app handle and why. For anything it does not answer, write to access@scolora.app.
The website (scolora.app)
Like nearly every web server, ours keeps standard access logs: the IP address, time, requested page, and browser identifier of each visit. We use them to keep the server secure and to count visits in aggregate. The statistics are computed on our own server with self-hosted software — no analytics service ever sees them. Logs are kept for at most twelve months. The website itself sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
Your account (app.scolora.app)
Accounts are created by an administrator on request. We store your email address, a hashed password (we cannot read the original), and your account role. Signing in sets a single, strictly necessary session cookie — the kind that needs no consent because the service cannot work without it. Interface preferences, such as your theme, are kept in your browser’s local storage and never leave your machine.
Your research
The documents you upload, your argument model, notes, verdicts, findings, and vault belong to your account and are visible only to you. They are never used to train models, never shared with other users, and never sold. You can export your entire vault as plain files at any time and leave with all of it. As with any hosted service, the server administrator can technically access stored data for maintenance; in practice that happens only for support you ask for.
AI processing
Scolora’s reading and reasoning run on Claude, using the Anthropic subscription or API key you connect. When you use an AI feature, the relevant text from your documents is sent to Anthropic under your own agreement with them (see the Anthropic privacy policy). Your connection credential is stored encrypted and is used only for your own requests. If you disconnect it, Scolora can no longer process anything on your behalf.
Where your data lives, and for how long
Everything is stored on our own server in the EU (Amsterdam) — not on third-party application services. Access logs are kept for up to twelve months. Account and research data are kept until you ask for deletion: deleting your account removes your documents, notes, findings, and connection credentials.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your data at any time — email access@scolora.app. Exporting your research needs no request at all: the vault export in the app gives you everything, whenever you want it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
